According to a new report, the Duchess used to have a secret Instagram account! However, last month, she was forced to shut it down because trolls made her feel ‘unsafe.’

As you may know, Meghan Markle gave up being on social media back in January of 2018, after her engagement with Prince Harry was announced.

The reason? Working royals are not allowed to be on social media.

However, now, one insider tells The Sun that the pregnant Duchess has been using a fake platform on Insta, in order to follow her friends and keep up with them.

Unfortunately for her, there were troll comments that made her really upset and she decided to delete her account in order to ‘protect her mental health.’

The royal source went on to mention that Meghan supposedly felt really ‘isolated’ after being called ‘Duchess Difficult’ and also allegedly making sister-in-law Kate Middleton cry while preparing for the Royal wedding last May.

‘Did this upset her? Of course. She was working on her projects in private, but could not say anything publicly as her patronages had not been announced. Since she shut down her public Instagram, she had had a fake account to follow her friends. There was some very vile stuff written by social media trolls, and obviously she saw the headlines about her too,’ the pal shared with the news outlet.

That being said, ‘It really got to her and, in the end, she had to shut down that account just before Christmas, too, to protect her mental health. She felt very isolated and alone.’

They also claim that she was so affected by the negative comments that Meghan does not feel safe to go out without protection now, and even fears that she will be physically attacked.
